FRIDAYS FLOWERS

This is the last of Fridays Flowers hosted by Renee at FIMBY.
Thank you Renee for inspiring me to make fresh flowers a weekly habit at our house.

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

A few Yarrow, placed in a thin glass jar to bring sunshine where the direct sun does not reach, are my Friday's Flowers.

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

I took a ride down the driveway in the golf cart ( ankle still swollen) to see what was in bloom by our pond. I found just the right blooms for Fridays Flowers.

I just LOVE gathering fresh flowers every Friday.  It has become a wonderful habit :)
See more Friday's Flowers over at Renee's blog, FIMBY.
Added Note: I WON! My name was drawn as winner at Fridays Flowers from this post. I won Renee's Summer "Shoo Fly" Soap. Doesn't it sound just heavenly?
Thank you so much Renee!

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia) are blooming at our house in New England and they are my Friday"s Flowers this week.  They always look so cheery and fun.

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

It's Friday again already and the Hydrangeas from last week are still looking great.
Yet there is always room for more fresh flowers.

From the garden today: Yarrow, Bee Balm, Coneflower, Black-eyed Susan, False Sunflower and Butterfly Bush. I LOVE the colors!

I guess I didn't realize that last Friday was the last Friday's Flowers for June and it will start up again the first week of July. But I'm on a roll, and it has already become such a delightful habit here at our house so I am continuing this week as well.

enJOY  . . . and happy day!

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

I almost forgot about Friday's Flowers until my sister in law walked in with a vase of her beautiful Hydrangeas for me. I didn't pick them but they are from our land.

Gorgeous huh?

Thank you Beth!

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

Close your eyes and think of sunshine. . . the laughter of children . . . the cozy warmth of blankets on a cold day. . .  a friend just beaming with joy .
What color do you see?

I see yellow.
I walked the garden in search of  yellow flowers today for Friday's Flowers hosted by Renee at Fimby.

YELLOW makes me happy and so do fresh flowers :)
What color makes YOU happy?

"When at last I took the time to look into the heart of a flower, it opened up a whole new world...as if a window had been opened to let in the sun."

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

You could close your eyes while walking and know when you get close to our pond.
The roses are in bloom and the fragrance is intoxicating. One step you don't smell anything and that next step has your world filled to the brim with excitement and joy as the abundant scent permeates your soul.

Once you open your eyes, your sense of sight is deeply inspired by Mother Nature's artistic talent in the delicate and exquisite blooms, and it is only fitting that I choose these roses for Friday's Flowers hosted by Renee at Fimby.

I chose a vase that used to be my mother's, that she had parted with long ago. I have always loved its detail and have kept it close by in my glass cabinet.
I love the quote by Terri Guillemets,
"If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom"
a good reminder to all of us to take time, to make time, to smell the roses.

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

The Daisies have bloomed and are in abundance in the meadow and throughout the yard near the house. The Irises are still in bloom on the grassy hill down the driveway and another by the pond but I wanted to enjoy them right where they were.

I gathered a few blooms for Fridays Flowers hosted by Renee at FIMBY

I am enjoying having fresh flowers on my table. I also like to use Hosta leaves.

I have also made a combination table runner/centerpiece using a myriad of Hosta leaves we have growing on our land. They are sturdy and last for quite a few days.

happy day!

FRIDAYS FLOWERS

I  just read an article about how important it is to make our house and our lives beautiful for US, not just company that comes to visit, but the people that live in the house day in and day out. It made mention of always having fresh flowers to enjoy.

I LOVE flowers but don't always have a bouquet on hand. And why not? Nowadays I can pick up a bunch at the market if flowers are long gone in my own garden. I plan to make a point to always have flowers.

It is so true how life is all connected, and very timely, that I came across FIMBY who is hosting Fridays Flowers. ( Thank you Lise!)   JUST PERFECT!

So as the sun was descending in the sky, I rushed out and gathered flowers from my front yard. Fridays Flowers will now get me in the habit of having flowering beauties IN my house as well as out.
