MAKE FLOWER ART

I came across another *creative spark* this morning on the desk in the great room. Finding these sparks is like uncovering bits of buried treasure, and I never know what I will find next.

It is a flower, still in process.

She cut out a shape from a  pizza box. . .
chose her color palette and gathered her supplies of tissue paper, modpodge and paintbrush and got to task.
She thinks she will do the leaves and stem in the same colors.

What will she do with it when it's finished?
She's not sure, as she often creates without a particular goal in mind but finds a use at a later date, or just enjoys it as is. It's all about the creative process anyway.

Perhaps it could hang on her wall , or as part of a whole collection of flowers, or can adorn the edges of a bulletin board or frame, or on the cover of one of her journals. There are so many possibilities.

One can use any shape and any color to make your own personal art !

Why don't YOU, and your child, go and give it a try!

happy day!

A FEW DROPS LEFT

She inspected the paints, noticed some were almost empty, and decided to play with them, dropping a speck here, a drop there, and shaking to make tiny drops, like splattering.

Then she used her fingers to make long streaks with some colors. The yellow paint came out in a big blob, so she used her hands to spread it all around.

She really didn't have a plan in mind, she just went with the flow and every step was fun and ended up being great to look at .

Another creative spark, as I call them.
Any creative endeavor is never a waste. It will go in her art stash to use in a future project, perhaps a background or for cut out letters or shapes.

Free flowing art . . .
it would look great in a frame as it is right now!

When is the last time YOU played with paint? We should all take a lesson from the children. . .
Go with the flow and see where it takes you
 Try it!  Above all, enJOY!
And remember . . . the process is always more important than product :)

WHERE ARE THE PAINTS

We did some moving things around before the grad party we had over the weekend and she was asking where the paints were now. I remembered about an hour ago she said "I feel like making something."

It wasn't long before she walked past with a long board, some newspapers, brushes and paints and when I walked through the room I did a double take to see all her supplies spread out on the wood floor as she painted, chatted with family and watched a movie. It is so great we have a kid-friendly, creative-friendly house. But that's how we live so I guess of course it would be that way.
It is just another *creative spark* that I always mention. .. probably because it always happens here ...and it is so awesome.  And it's the whole process that is of the greatest importance not necessarily the product. She learned what she would have done differently the next time.

I feel it is so important for all children to have a myriad of supplies, the time to choose, experiment and create exactly what they want, and the support from others that their choices, as well as their art, hence themselves, are valued.

DOODLES

Walking through the great room into the kitchen, I noticed another *creative spark*  on the couch. A bucket of  sharpie markers was on the floor and she was probably doodling while watching a movie.

Wouldn't it be a great idea to print this on fabric and make a pillow for her room re-do ??
I think she will LOVE it!

CREATIVE SPARK

Did you ever want to create with color but didn't know exactly what you wanted to do ?

Just go ahead and DO !. . .  we call them *creative sparks* here, that play with different art techniques and art medium just because you want to.

You can add them to your art stash to use at another time, perhaps for that future project. It's the process that really counts anyway.

I found this creative spark on the kitchen table this morning :

She used colored dye on tissues (you know, kleenex tissues!) and used only a three color palette.

Other times she has used paint, or sharpie markers, on paper towels.
It is art in its own right or can be incorporated into a mixed media piece.
COOL, huh?
