LEARNING IN NATURE

My Harmony Woods Earth School was in full swing today as eight children explored and discovered life in the woodlands, caught and observed frogs, salamanders, earthworms, pill bugs and snails, wrote quotes and drew wildflowers in their nature journals, fed horses, plucked angora rabbits, and still had time to talk, laugh and play a few games.

This will be Day 14 in the Great Outdoor Challenge
the others who play!

RAIN RAIN RAIN

The forecast is rain and more rain. You might have had quite enough by now. But think positive.

We all know children LOVE rain.
They love to be outdoors in ALL weather.

When was the last time YOU went out in the rain

Don those boots and raingear and go OUTSIDE!
It's only water, nothing that a warm shower or bath and cozy clothes and blankets won't fix once you come in :)

Everything looks different in the rain.
Everything sounds different.
Everything feels different.

Go SEE for yourself! And take a child if you can!

They know what to do

And think of the rains bringing us closer and closer to the lush GREEN of Spring.

Let the rain kiss you. Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops. Let the rain sing you a lullaby.

Whose Tracks Are Those?

This is a great time, after a snowfall, to go and see who was here while we slept.
The white, untouched blanket is just waiting to be explored.

Look closely . What do you see?

What did YOU find around your yard or street?

Let me know. I'd love to hear from you.
