AN EGG HERE, AN EGG THERE

Henrietta is a funny one, always disappearing from the flock .

We know where she disappears to . . .  the barn!

Soon  various *cluck cluck clucks*, in different octaves,  are heard as she presents us with her daily gift.

Sometimes we have a hard time finding her eggs. It's like a treasure hunt.
Two eggs are hers, from yesterday and today) and it looks like another hen has found her cozy nest, perhaps Vanilla, the Buff Orpington hen.

This picture is Day 2 of  The Great Outdoor Challenge (Children and Nature Challenge) as my son was collecting the eggs .

(You only see his arm because when you are 13 you don't *always* want to be in the pictures on blogs :) ... and I want to respect his choice.)

Our barred Rock is our little hoodlum too! We call her the
"escape artist" because she is always the first one to try and get out of the run!

Love the egg collecting photo! :)
